In the distance she saw a large castle and headed out on foot. It started raining.

"I hate being wet!"

The queen of the castle didn't believe she was a doggy princess, she looked like a drowned rat. But the handsome, green prince hoped Sallie was! He'd never seen such a fascinating creature before. He begged his mother to let her spend the night.

"Hey, beautiful. Want to spend the night?"

The queen, worried her son was being deceived, devised a plan. Real princesses were used to the fine things. So she placed a Hicbarian Moonberry under several pillow beds of which Sallie was to sleep.

"Good thing I can jump high. What the heck is that lumpy thing?"

The next morning, the Queen asked Princess Sallie how she slept.

"Ok, except I felt this lumpy thing. I thought a bone might be buried under the mattress, so in the middle of the night I tried to find it. All I found was some weird berry. Sorry, but there are a bunch of feathers on the floor now. Hey, Prince Alien. Do you think we could have some breakfast?"

The green prince, convinced this sensitive and smart princess was the one for him, proposed on the spot.

"If you marry me, I will give you all the bones you want!"

"Awww. What I really want is a normal bed. I haven't slept a wink!"

One Thing I Know

This time last year, we were engaged in a Thanksgiving Battle Royale against Evil Freddy, Garden gnomes, and Gobblers from Turkey! It was a grueling battle but we won! (To see, check the side bar and click on picture of Alien wearing turkey feathers)

This year, much turmoil has happened in our little world. Alien put his search for a bride on hold to battle once more, and search for hidden treasure. Now he is planet-side once again. We are ready to share Thanksgiving dinner!

But first we are headed downtown to hand out sandwiches. It may not be much, but one thing I know: Turkey shared with the less fortunate is the best meal of all.

I'm worried about Alien. He asked me to watch his Moonshine Stand at the picnic, and the next thing I know he is talking to a potted plant and fainting right in front of me!

Well, I rushed him to the First Aid Tent. He seemed to come around when Pip shoved some beer and Brat in his face. But he kept mumbling something about aliens with ears instead of hearing ducts, and something else about the time-space continuum.

*Sigh.* I wish he would talk to me about what happened. Obviously something gave him a shock! But he just shakes his head. I hope our trip to Hawaii goes smoothly. We don't want any mishaps, like last year!

I narrowed my slanted eyes. "Who are you?"

She swallowed thickly and glanced up once more. "I'm your daughter from the future."

But despite clinging with all his weight, Evil Freddy cut the anchor lose and set sail.

"That's ok. Say, what big eyes you have, Alien," Sallie said, staring into black, triangular depths.

He smiled. "The better to see you with, my dear."

Sallie blushed. "Aww. That is so romantic! Do you like the color red?"

"Oh, yes. In fact I have a red smoking jacket that I'm rather fond of. "

Sallie jumped for joy. "Yay! We should be best friends!"

And so they went playing in the woods. Becuase if a girl isn't afraid of Aliens, she certainly isn't afraid of puny wolves.

Day 1

Welcome to Alien's Castle!

The party starts with a meet and greet in the main ballroom. Our bartender, Asta, is serving drinks.

"Hewe I am behind a baw sewving dwinkies fow my fwiends..I looove mawtoonis specially if they awe all owange..my signitoowe colow, hehehe. I developed a taste fow them when I watched the old Thin Man movies wif my namesake Asta in them. In the

And there is a bevy of gourmet food to choose from.

Richie and Ronnie are dressed for the occasion and helping to spread some love.

Who will cupid's arrow strike by the end of the weekend!?

Guests are invited to pick their choice of bedroom, unpack, and explore the castle at their leisure. No fighting! There are plenty of rooms for all. Some are nicer than others!

Highlights include the hidden grottos with steam fed pools.

Extensive gardens are encased in a greenhouse-like bubble, to regulate temperature.

There are lots of caves to explore underneith the castle that are said to go all the way to Hicbar's core.

Be careful not to get lost!

The snow came after Christmas, coating the ground in a shimmering blanket. I bundled Alien up in a sweatshirt and dragged him outside. He won't tell you this, but he doesn't like the cold. Alien's body regulates his temperature, so it's not the wind-chill factor that makes him hate this time of year. The cold reminds Alien of his home planet, Hicbar, and of his mission to find a bride. Though Alien dates like a tomcat, he hasn't found the right girl. Today I saw him holding a necklace, one of many treasures he plans to give to his bride. He dropped it in the snow, the weight making it sink until only the chain remained.

"I'm beginning to give up hope," Alien said, lying down, letting the snow cover his small, green body.

Using my teeth, I grabbed the chain and the end of Alien's sweatshirt and shook them free of snow. "Valentine's Day is just around the corner," I said, letting him go. "Let's throw a blog party! "

"A blog party?" Alien perked up. "How does it work?"

I teased him by swatting him with my tail. "Leave all the arrangements to me."

Resting after the hectic holidays, I curled up with one of my favorite romance authors, Jane Feather! Jane was born in England and has a great sense of detail in her historical romances. When I read them I am transported across time and sea, kind of like in Alien's spaceship, to a magical land of lords and ladies.

Thankfully Pip knew just what to do to fix the reindeer, while I sipped on a Martini. But I still needed to deliver the presents and for some reason I kept hearing jingle bells, as if they were following my spaceship. So I called in my other friends for some help. It was one crazy night. Who knew Santa was real, and he wanted Rudolf back?

My journey began in the North. I followed the signs for a magical snowman who would show me the way to a certain toy workshop. I had the santa suit, I had the laugh, but I needed presents. Christmas was only a few days away!

Hmm. I don't see any snow.

After weeks of searching and a few, short detours, I found the giant snowman.

He told me a story about how his brethern had been taken hostage, and he needed help rescuing them from "The Collector", but I didn't have time! I'm only one Alien. Thankfully his little helpers wrote the directions down for me. And I was on my way.

Once in the North Pole, I loaded up my spaceship--and the sleigh and reindeer I found in some shed in the back--with a bunch of presents that were lying in the snow.

Some little men with pointy ears were highly agitated. But although I speak roughly 800 languages, including some gnome, apparently I don't speak Elvish.

No. I'm not the Grinch.

Despite the elves attempts to jump on my spaceship, and the damage they did to my nucleur reindeers, I was able to escape their crazy workshop and continue on my mission, with the help of my friends. If only I could get the reindeer away from the mini bar and the kegs the Minx left in the storage room.

My adventure had only just begun.

It was time to head home.

And so I set out alone to do some reconisance and see what evil awaited me next. For there is always evil in the world. It is never entirely defeated. I must keep vigilant so my friends are safe in their beds this Holiday season.

Sallie and I wanted to be home to celebrate George's Birthday.

George's Birthday Steps Post!

But we had to battle evil Turkeys and Gnomes. (I did manage to smuggle some Turkish treats to help George celebrate when we get home.)

The battle was fierce. There were turkey feathers and little red hats everywhere. I thought we would never succeed. But thanks to my friends, especially a pup named Pip, we were able to ferret them out. (See Links below.) Most importantly, we were able to find Sallie, who had been captured. (Garden gnomes might be great diggers, but Sallie is an expert.)

After rounding up some turkeys and gnomes in the countryside, it was time to head back to Istanbul. But I left some of my trusted friends and an alien clone from my Time Machine, to be sure no gnomes escaped!

Pip had troubling news. In the city, the gnomes had infiltrated the Bazaar, the Hagia Sophia, and a neighboring castle. It would take a united front to capture them all. And we still didn't know where Evil Freddy was, though we had some clues.

And so, while I headed to the rendezvous point with my De-Evilizer Ray, I gave a silent prayer of thanks. No matter what evil I faced in the future, I knew I would not be alone. I knew my Blogland friends would be there to help.

Sallie once told you she was an unwanted Christmas Present( here ) And I spoke a little about how I met Sallie ( here ) So today, as per Minna Kreb's birthday request, I will tell you about the day my spaceship landed on Earth.

I was lost, scared, and exhilarated. I knew the Nitrogen level was sufficient for my needs but taking off my Nitr0-mask for the first time made my heart race.

Ah, but I was free, free from my duties as future leader of Hicbar. The Earth was my scallop.

I spent weeks exploring, playing, making crop circles-- just because I could. But then my supplies began to dwindle, my spaceship grew lonely, and I began to feel imprisoned, rather than free.

Then I met a Romance Puppy.

"You are looking for a bride?" Sallie asked. "That is so romantic!"

I had never seen it that way before. It was my duty, something expected, to find a strong bride who would survive attacks from the royal family. (Cousins like Evil Freddy.)

"You can stay with me!" Sallie said.

"Your family won't mind?"

"No! My mom, Dawn, is a romance writer. She believes that love conquers all. I'm beginning to believe her, but I"m not sure. Do you believe in the power of love?"

And that is how I came to live with Sallie Marie. And the rest is Hicabarian History.
